Physical tickets for events and entertainment have always been inconvenient. They can get lost, stolen, or you can forget them at home (a lot worse when you traveled to get there). TicketFire’s mission is to fix these problems with their app that lets you create a mobile ticket with just a picture. The digitization technology reads the paper ticket and creates a scannable mobile ticket on your phone. This mobile ticket lets you easily use your phone to get into an event. It’s especially useful if you can’t make it and you need to sell or send your tickets. Instead of dealing with the hassle of shipping them between states or meeting up somewhere locally, you can sell them for a set price online or send them to a friend with a link. If you don’t find anyone that wants them, TicketFire can post it to their marketplace.

TicketFire hired Ghost Lab because they felt like there was untapped potential in this product. They had nailed their technology to digitize tickets and developed a selling marketplace that allows tickets to be purchased by anyone online using a custom link. However, their ticket creation and selling processes felt inaccessible due to a disconnected UX/UI. Ghost Lab came in with the goal of collaborating to design a better product experience that made it easier to create, send, and sell mobile tickets in an end-to-end process.

We realized we had to reorganize the current user flow and information architecture, which was improvised piece-by-piece over time as features were developed. We outlined how to present TicketFire’s most valuable information, features, and dynamic data by wireframing user flow maps and ideal layout. Solutions were tested and iterated for the most common and complex use-cases. This process brought us to a new and scalable UX strategy for TicketFire, tying together the platform’s ticket creation, send, and sell flows.
